The One Gift to Wish For This Holiday Season

Smart phones a must for managing properties

by James Safonovlandlord helpIt is a reality that property managers and other agents must have the use of a smart phone.

Homepointe agents have used Blackberry cell phones for a couple years. While they are great at email and direct communication, they pale in the versatility of newer cell phones such as the Iphone and Andriod devices.I switched from a Blackberry to my current Android X and everyday I am blown away by some new feature of this phone. It makes property management a snap.

I can instantly load HD quality images and videos of my properties online for ads, I can instantly email the images to property owners and or vendors to clearly identify whatever issue I need addressed. All gated community gate codes and home alarm codes are kept securely in locked files on the device. For marketing I can effortlessly blog, tweet, facebook and email blast from the phone –you are reading this entry right?Hands down, even if it requires you to take a short course, go get a smart phone to assist you in doing your job.

Oh yeah–the Droid offers quick and free video demonstrations and tutorials directly on the phone’s huge 4.3 inch screen if you do not want to speak to one of their knowledgeable operators. I should be paid for this endorsement!
