Tenant Sues Landlord Over Acquaintance Break-In
A tenant in Chippewa County, Wisconsin is suing her landlords after she was attacked by her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
The woman was sleeping on the couch when the man, wielding a knife, entered the rental home through a broken door which the tenant had asked the landlords to repair, according to a local news report.
The tenant was stabbed in the neck and nearly died from her injuries. Her attacker is in prison.
The tenant claims she had made several requests to fix the door, which did not close firmly and could not be adequately locked. She claims the landlords are negligent and is seeking an unspecified amount of damages.
