Alaska Tenant Screening Background Checks

Alaskan landlords must comply with all federal Fair Housing laws while screening tenants. Prospective tenants cannot be discriminated against based on race or color, religion, national origin, familial status or age (example: pregnant women, anyone under a certain age, etc.), disability or handicap, and sex.

When screening tenants, landlords must be consistent and request information based on financial information, criminal history, and employment history. Personal information is requested only in order to confirm identity.
