New Tool Helps Landlords Manage Online Reputation

hApartment Guide announced that it has teamed up with Reputation.com to aggregate Apartment Guide’s Certified Resident Ratings & ReviewsSM.

This will allow landlords and property managers who use Reputation.com to manage their online reputations to easily incorporate Apartment Guide’s voluminous database of reviews.

Reputation.com and other reporting software providers consolidate online reviews from various websites into one dashboard, allowing apartment owners and operators to monitor and manage their online reputations from one place. The new Apartment Guide Review API gives Reputation.com the ability to easily incorporate these review on those dashboards.

“Many of our clients are using Reputation.com to manage the online reputations of their apartment communities, which is increasingly complex as the number of online review sites available to consumers continues to grow,” says Scott Asher, vice president of marketing and operations for Apartment Guide. “With the Review API, we’re making it as easy as possible for our clients to include Certified Resident Ratings & Reviews in their overall reputation management efforts.”

Unlike other review sites, Apartment Guide’s system allows community management teams to certify the residents before reviews are generated. The certification process prevents phony reviews, which tarnish the reputation of apartment communities, from being posted on the listings.

“With the addition of Certified Resident Ratings & Reviews on these reporting dashboards, apartment owners and operators will get an even more accurate picture of their online reputations,” Asher says. “They can be sure that the Certified Resident Ratings & Reviews are from actual residents and free of phony reviews that taint the data.”

There are now more than 190,000 Certified Resident Ratings & Reviews on Apartment Guide listings.

The move underscores the importance of monitoring and nurturing your online reputation — because prospective tenants are watching, even if you’re not.
