According to a news report, the management company ordered a cleaning company to remove all items from an former tenant’s apartment. Unfortunately, the company was given a key to the wrong unit. The mistake stems from switching a ‘B’ for a ‘D’, according to the report.

The tenant claims that he sat down with the management company to try to settle the matter out of court, but the insurance carrier would not pay the estimated $40,000 for all of his lost possessions, including furniture and clothing, his passport, and photos that were sent to the landfill.

The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of the management company, and also names the cleaning company, according to the report.
