Has Politics Gone to the Dogs?
President-Elect Barack Obama has some tough issues on his plate, not the least of which is fulfilling a promise he made to his children in his acceptance speech – that they can get a puppy.Now, I’m someone who has had some mixed luck when it comes to dogs:
One was a finicky eater – she only ate leather shoes.
Another managed to lock me out of the house.
And then there was the puppy that crawled up on the bay window and howled each night we had a full moon.
I won’t even mention the snake-collector.
Now, I own a cat. But even I have to admit that dogs can bring great joy – if you choose the right one!
