AAOA’s Newest Tenant Screening Feature: Edit Tenant Emails Instantly!
This new feature is a benefit for members who provide the tenant’s email address for credit release.
On December 1, 2018, AAOA launched a highly requested feature allowing members to edit the tenant’s email address for credit report orders. Prior to this change members would need to contact AAOA customer support to update an email address. This limitation created delays in processing new applicants since changes could only be made when the office was open on weekdays with no weekend support.
In a perfect world, tenants have great handwriting and you have 100% typing accuracy – but as we all know that is not always the case. An additional feature coming in the new year will instantly notify you if the request sent to the tenant’s email bounces. Once this feature is live you’ll receive an email notification that the tenant’s email address is invalid and needs to be updated.
Please note, even if you type the email correctly there are some email servers that may block automated messages. An example of this would be educational institutions (.edu) and government agencies (.gov) as they may have strict email filters. We recommend asking tenants for their personal emails, such as Gmail or Yahoo, which are typically more compatible. This causes fewer delays in the credit approval process and helps you rent your unit faster!
