Landlord Quick Tip

Tip #231: Get With the Program

If you want to attract the best tenants, you need to have the best rental ads.

A professional-looking rental ad is within your power, even if you are not a large, multifamily landlord — or a graphic artist.

Craigslist supports the use of a number of HTML formatting tools — all the snazzy options like colored fonts and large, bold text. And, they make it easy by supplying an HTML guide.

Play around with a style that you like, or take a look at a competitor’s ads that you think stand out in a good way. Just be careful, though. Don’t get so caught up in formatting that you forget the basics.  Apartment seekers will want to be able to skim your ad quickly to see if your property is a good fit for them. Always include the location, size, price, qualifying terms, and photos of the property.
