Denver’s new ordinance regulating the licensing of residential rentals became effective Jan. 1, 2023, and provides that it is unlawful for any person to offer, provide, or operate a residential rental property consisting of two or more dwellings on a parcel under that person’s ownership without first obtaining a license. For example, two or more dwelling units on a parcel may include apartment complexes, multi-unit structures, or any other type of the home where two or more dwelling units are provided for rent.
