Landlord Quick Tip

Tip #240:   What Day Is It?

Holidays can be a stressful time for landlords because that’s when tenants are most likely to be late on the rent.

Caught up in travel plans, hosting guests, or on a vacation schedule, even the best of tenants can drop the ball.

Sometimes all it takes is a simple reminder to keep tenants on track over the holiday season. Consider sending an email rent reminder or a snail mail invoice with an envelope to tenants just before the rent due date. Make sure tenants know when the leasing office will be open for rent drop off. Posts reminder signs in the elevator. And it never hurts to remind tenants that late payments bring late payment fees.

Want to take a softer approach? Stock the leasing office with sugary treats so tenants are sure to remember to stop by.
