Tenants Try to Drag Stolen ATM Into Second Story Apartment

According to a report in NBC Connecticut, the elderly woman heard noises from her tenants in the early morning hours and decided to investigate.

She discovered three people, including her tenants,  trying to drag an ATM  into a second floor apartment. A tenant told her it was an air conditioning unit.

The three fled after she called police, but returned to the area while police were still on the scene and were captured.

The machine came from a corner grocery. The store owner knew the suspects and told reporters that his wife had helped them out from time to time when they were short on money for groceries.
