Tenants Paying Rent in Bitcoin

Rentalutions, an online software platform for do-it-yourself landlords, says it will now allow tenants to pay rent with bitcoins.

Bitcoin is a currency that is the electronic equivalent of cash. The currency was created in 2009 and the total value of all bitcoins today exceeds USD $1 billion.

A recent decision by a Federal Judge in the Eastern District of Texas declared that bitcoins are, a currency or form of money. This ruling paves the way for greater regulation and adoption among individuals and businesses.

As bitcoins gain popularity, we expect tenants will want to use the currency to pay rent. As a technology business, its our job to anticipate consumers needs, says Rentalutions co-founder Ryan Coon.
