Landlord Who Spanked Tenant Won’t Face Charges

Daily Newspaper shutterstock_1272343108 A Waynesville, Ohio landlord who two weeks ago garnered attention by spanking his 29-year-old tenant with a belt will not face criminal charges.

According to the police, the landlord told the tenant that if he was going to act like a child, the landlord would treat him like one. The tenant was behind on rent.

The landlord was initially charged with criminal assault. However, a news agency is reporting that the judge overseeing the case has granted diversion — a process where the charges will be dropped if the landlord complies with the conditions, including having no further contact with the tenant.
