Landlord Fined For Hitting Tenant With Car

landlord helpA 70-year-old landlord in York, Nebraska, was fined $100 last week for running into his tenant with his car after a fight over unpaid rent.

According to a local news report, the man was originally charged with acts of terror, and could have received up to five years in prison.

The dispute apparently erupted when the landlord posted a “for rent” sign in front of the occupied rental property because the existing tenant was behind on rent payments.

An argument ensued, and the landlord bumped into the tenant with his car as he tried to leave.

The more serious charges were dropped due to a plea agreement.
