landlord helpAs of February 10th, Google will no longer feature rental ads, foreclosures or property listings on Google Maps. This service is currently available in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Japan.
The company announced the news in a blog post Wednesday, where a spokesperson states,” At Google one of our key philosophies is to take risks and to experiment.”
However, “due to low usage, the proliferation of excellent property-search tools on real estate websites, and the infrastructure challenge posed by the impending retirement of the Google Base API (used by listing providers to submit listings), weve decided to discontinue the real estate feature within Google Maps.”
Other Google features, including a popular one that allows businesses to display customized maps in advertisements and websites will still be available.
