Landlord Quick Tip

Tip #222: Keeping Score

With everything a landlord has to do to keep up with a rental property, marketing tends to fall to the bottom of the list.

But one marketing trick you shouldn’t neglect is to find out how applicants are finding you.  Keep track of which method of advertising — Craigslist, For Rent signs, tenant referrals — scores highest.

Also, track how long it takes to fill a vacancy, and cross-reference which marketing methods you employed during that time.

The information can be enlightening — and make you more effective in filling vacancies for the least expense and hassle.
